Sparsely occupied at 11 am. 35 minutes be served. Chicken sandwich was dry and bun was stale. My wife suspected that her French toast batter was a mix and doubted that it contained any egg. Place was shabby, unisex restroom was dirty. Overheard couple at next table complain that a 20% gratuity was automatically added to their bill. Ours was the same - when we finally got it. Poor food, slow service, aloof cashier and poor value = *. The Brookside area has more to offer than this place. Adios.

It's pretty good. Stick with traditional breakfast items and you can't really go wrong (I've only had breakfast here). My first time I had the Fred's Country Benedict. I wasn't a huge fan at all. The small OJ was extremely small. Maybe 4 - 6 oz. The second time I got the 2 egg breakfast and a waffle and it was good. The waffle was really good! I'd definitely order again! I got a large OJ and was much more pleased. If you go early enough or on a nice day you should definitely enjoy your meal on the patio. Very nice vibe.

The food was "okay." I could've made the same food at home with minimal effort, though admittedly, I ate breakfast so it's not like that's a huge deal. The interior was not what you'd expect from a place in Brookside. It really isn't nice at all. And the thing that dropped them from a 3 star to a 1 star was the forced gratuity. If I had known there was forced gratuity, I wouldn't have ordered anything. I was only there because two coworkers were leaving and one of them picked that location for us all to get together. Even with the 20% gratuity, I still left a $20 tip. The waiter was decent and I left that tip because we were a large party and I wanted to make sure he was tipped well. But the fact remains that I will NEVER order from that place again BECAUSE of their forced gratuity. To the owners: you need to just increase your pay if you're so worried about your workers not making enough. If that means you increase prices then so be it, but don't tack on forced gratuity and if you're going to do that, you need to plaster that everywhere in your store so that it's crystal clear you're going to tax your guests 20% so you don't have to pay them a decent wage. When you aren't upfront about that, it upsets people. And I'm a great tipper but based on principle alone, I don't want to be forced to do anything so just charge more and be honest. You get one star.

We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We had to wait, but we were a big group so we were expecting that...it was well worth the wait. The food was great. Service was amazing even though they were short staffed. 5 stars all day long.
