We were excited to eat outside right at the water! They have yummy seafood options, but also have sandwiches & burgers as well!

We always enjoy going to Breakwater! This restaurant is always consistent with its food, cocktails and service. The wife and I have found that one of the biggest problems with waterfront dining in Connecticut and New England for that matter is lack of consistency in good/great food and service. We never worry about that when we come to Breakwater! The only other place in New England that I would mention is Coastguard House in RI. That to me and I hope to Breakwater is quite a compliment! We will be back again and again this season and for years to come!

First I must comment on its location, driving through the beautiful historic town of Stonington you will find this beautiful restaurant on the water - kinda tricky to find if your from out of town as it is nestled between the pretty old buildings/homes but we did get to drive around some cool historical cannons. Service was absolutely spectacular from our hostess who was super friendly to our waiter Keila who made us feel very welcome. We had the fried calamari, mussels marinara and blue cheese fondu with toasted French bread to start - all very tasty The main courses we had were the sword fish, grilled seafood medley and fish tacos - all fresh and delicious - just what everyone in my party craved and enjoyed I would defiantly recommend if you are passing through and in the mood for fresh tasting seafood

So Stonington is terrible at parking for handicap and the parking lot was full at 4:30. This restaurant is totally about the ambiance. Absolutely beautiful and reminded me of Red 36. You can sit outside, inside bar and inside tables. We decided to sit inside because most people are outside. You can see the beautiful view from the inside table side. Felt very homey like a living room with pillows. The restaurant says seafood restaurant but many options that aren't seafood. The service was great. The food portions are on the petite side and for me it was perfect because I for the first time ate all my meal. We both had the grilled bistro steak and it was delish. Decided to have the key lime pie which was also delish. It wasn't loud, very serene. Loved the view and the night was enjoyable

Skipper's dock I think
We ate on the deck yesterday
No
A very good friend told me he has. I don't own a boat!
I think so, but the view of Stonington Harbor out the windows is what people watch there.
Yes, we are currently open on Mondays for lunch & dinner. November through March, we are closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and will reopen on Mondays beginning in April. Thank you for checking in with us!
BTW, regarding brunch, my family has celebrated Mother's Day there for the past two years. Party of 15, excellent food, atmosphere, service. (Separately, went for happy hour drink & fish tacos yesterday. Yummy and half-price!) I love Breakwater. 🙋♀️
