Wonderful museum. Great job displaying history. Gosh, it’s so sad, in general, we’ve made such little progress in the mental health scene. However, this museum is amazing.

Their museum is super rad!! My dad did an internship here when I was younger, so I grew up always wanting to see inside. Anybody interested in the history of mental health in the US should definitely check their museum out. They even had an exhibit dedicated to the notorious "soup can urns" that were discovered at OSH not all that long ago.

informative and interesting! I highly recommends stopping here if you're ever in Salem. It costs $7 to get in and see the exhibits and walk the grounds. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was filmed here and there's amazing memorial outside (the copper cans). The staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Fascinating exhibit that teaches about the progress that we have made for the care of mental health patients, and our knowledge of what classifies as a true mental health disorder. It showed a timeline of the American wars, and how that affected our asylum staff and patients. It was both intruiging, and heartbreaking. It cost $5 per person, and is definitely worth checking out when in the salem area.

The museum is indoors. I believe the answer to that is, no.
I don't believe so. They provide discounts to students and children only.
Yes, if he’s truly a service dog.
Pull around driveway.
When I was there last...5USD
From memory around 5USD. It's worth it!.
Normally $5, can be as low as $0. See https://oshmuseum.org/visit/.
