I would call it an intermediate hiking experience. Be careful of poison oak along the trail as you get towards the bottom. Did not see any wildlife except a few lizards.A small trail of water that you will walk across as the trail zig zags the bottom. Save your energy for the walk back up to the top. If you park at the visitors center about 1/4 mile from the trial head you do not need to purchase and display the national park parking pass.

Easy to follow the trail until after the large campsite. Then it's a thin single-track trail. I was able to follow it but not all the way to the waterfall, and had to turn around. Clean, with a few instances of graffiti. Pick up any trash you pass by to keep it that way for everyone!

Questions & Answers

Is this trail open? One site I was looking at said it was closed due to the Bobcat fires, but people are writing reviews from just 2 days ago. 4/30/21

It was open when I went a couple of weeks ago. There's not many hikers there. There were only two other cars in the small parking lot.

Is there parking?
