I was travelling back to Canada, during covid pandemic (March 2022). Needed to get Covid tests done. Called prior to getting here on a Friday. They said nontesting on weekends and only M-F 9:00 -4:00. They mentioned $80 for antigen testing, $150 for PCR. Fast forward to 3 days later (Monday), we get here they tell us they have no more antigen tests available and that they only have PCR tests available. They also mention that Antigen tests are $100 but PCR tests are $150. Now lets just say that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to say the least.

This hospital charges everyone for any reason to take a COVID test. Not sure of the legality of this, but if you’re in a pinch, there are a few other options within 30min that do them for free. They do NOT except insurance and they “prefer” you pay cash…a bit of a strange hospital. I would just avoid it if you can for anything COVID related. UPDATE: did some digging, you must specify the test is for personal use and not for travel. COVID tests for travel specifically must be paid for. Rating adjusted.

Update: They reached out to me the very next day after posting this review so I’m upgrading the 1 star to 3 stars. I haven’t had a chance to resolve it with them because I was particularly busy when they called but I think it says a lot that they would try to remedy the situation so quickly. I will reevaluate again after the situation is completely remedied. ——— Their billing department is the absolute worst. Service rendered 9/21. Statement date 11/25. Payment due by 12/5. Mail arrived today, 12/14. Beyond that, the bill is completely wrong and is charging me $800 more than I owe. My insurance paid most of it and I have the records to show for it. While I know I'll be able to call and get things sorted out, stuff like this shouldn't happen and patients shouldn't have to deal with issues like this for literally every bill sent out.
