Nice to finally be able to enjoy the fair after it being shut down for the past 2 years because of covid. Nice firework show on the 4th of July, but it seems like the carnival aspect of the fair was trying to make up for the past 2 years being closed. The rides require tickets of course, that's always been the way it works. But the carnival games require tickets to play as well (used to be cash?) The cost of tickets is $5 for 1 ticket, or 40 tickets for $50. Rides require 5 or 6 tickets per person, and the carnival games go from 4, 6 ,8 or 10 tickets to play, per person. 1 ride cost $20 - $30 a person! That is outrageous!!!! I always expect to pay more for the food and souvenirs, but they really rip people off in the rides and carnival aspect.

Extremely huge fair. Prices are a bit steep for the rides but overall a great experience. Food, food and more food. Tried out Chicken Charlies. It was good. Not great but good. Wife ate the Chicken and rice on the pineapple and honestly it needed flavor. Seems as if it was not marinated enough. Just lacked flavor.

The Del Mar Fairgrounds offer a variety of activities all year round. They have the whorae races, annual Fair, events including the Van Gogh Experience, I recently attended. Parking was super easy, although you'll pay $10, the line was short because they had timed entry based on your tickets, and it wasn't too crowded either. It was an amazing experience! The price was a little excessive for the $60+ tickets that allowed extra time in the exhibit. The exhibit doesn't take that long and buying the flexible tickets is not worth the money because no one is checking. To be honest, even the reg priced adult admission of $36 was excessive for what you get. It was really cool and I recommend you check it out for yourself.

Came here with the family to check out the "Oddities & Curiosities Expo". Easy to find via Google Maps. Had a great time with all the great vendors, stage performances (close to a real traveling circus side show) Food court available inside and a Hotdog vendor inside. Plenty to see and fun for everyone. Kid friendly this event was and our daughter enjoyed her visit here, even the Freak show they had available *separate ticket purchase* Be ready to have your ID & Vaccination cards handy, they will check even if it isn't the "Oddities & Curiosities" event. The Fairgrounds are clean and organized, wouldn't mind coming back for another event.

I agree it was VERY exspensive
I don't know. For the fair it was $13
Yes, but if it has already been opened they make you throw it out.
About 2 hours.
The fair started earlier in June, I think they let people in starting at 11:00am, and I think it continues until the 4th of July weekend.
The beach is a short distance (walkable). Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve is nearby. Del Mar town is nearby for a stroll
The cost is between $89 and $269 on StubHub.
Coronado, Embarcadero, Belmont Park.,
I don't think you are suppose to bring in food but my daughter brought in some snacks for my granddaughter and I brought in a bottle of water. They do look in your purse or backpack when entering the gate.
Yes.
Actual sit down restaurant about 3 all pretty pricey. But plenty of good food stands throughout.
The last Monday of the Fair is July 4th. They will be closed June 27-28.
I don't believe so. But I don't know for fact. I suggest you call and find out.
Closed Monday's and Tuesday's. When we were there Saturday the ticket booth was open how we they prefer you purchase tickets band parking ahead online (it goes thru ticketmaster and they charge a fee)
Not to the fair unless it is a service animal. To other events you may be able to but not likely.
It depends what you're going for to determine what time the event opens. As far as parking yes, there's tons of parking at Del Mar fairgrounds
