The food was good. Everything is Super Covid compliant, there is no wait staff. You order your food at the desk and everything is packed to go. Beverages are made and sealed with plastic and they have these cute faces and you get a straw that can poke thru like a capri sun. Your food is ready quickly and everything is hot and tasty. You're giving disposable silverware and napkins. You can sit outside by the fire or stay watch the game if you choose. You still order at the cash register or the bar. drinks are made and covered to go glasses. not much has changed all food is packaged to go even if you're dining in. However the customer service is amazing and the staff is super friendly. I had the chicken flautas and they were meaty and tasty.

Came for dinner on the patio. There is no waitstaff here, and food quality is average (not bad, but does anyone in the area make a decent enchilada?). Prices were high for what it is. You order at the bar, wait for food to be brought out from the kitchen in to-go packaging with plastic utensils, then go find a table. I wasn't expecting that, so a bit disappointed, but understanding that businesses are still struggling. Will probably be back after they regain their footing and offer a normal restaurant experience again.

We’ve been going here for three years and today I was pretty disappointed. They no longer have servers and you have to go order at the bar, and then pick up your food. It comes out in to-go boxes. Basically this restaurant has turned into a fancier fast food place rather than a sit-down restaurant. I understand it’s due to some of their policy changes because of COVID, but just know that your experience won’t be what it used to be if you’ve been here prior to March 2020. The women’s bathrooms stunk so bad. Both of my small children commented, and my daughter wouldn’t stop holding her nose. It smelled like musty rotten eggs, and visibly looked dirty. Also, for those who like queso dip, beware that their appetizer “queso funidto,” is not the kind of queso that you can easily dip into. By the time we picked up our order, it had already hardened and was essentially a block of cheese. On a positive, their chicken tortilla soup is fantastic, as is their salsa. The salsa is pretty spicy too… if that’s what you like.

Great place for lunch and a Patron margarita. You can eat inside or outside or just do take-out, your choice. Explore Carlsbad Village and/or stroll on the beach afterwards. Either way, good times.

I think it starts at 3PM. The drinks are NOT particularly cheap, and they can't tell you how much the apps are during happy hour, because there's no fixed percentage discount (like 50%, for example. The outside patio area is nice, but the servers have never been particularly efficient. They need a strong manager badly here.
Norte is not what it was. We were very disappointed at what they have done with the bar, service, food and charging for chips and salsa, who does that! And now they serve their margaritas in plastic cups. Never going back and we were regulars for many years. Other resident friends agree!
Give them a call, I haven't been for a while.
There are a few on Carlsbad Village Drive, between the 101 & the beach.
They are open. No reservations needed.
