It’s an very great place. The waiting service was good. The wait time wasn’t long at all. Been here twice and only waited 20 minutes at most once and the other time I was seated immediately. Loved being able to draw on the table. The food recommendations were amazing. The New England oysters were really good.

So glad to be back from Florida and able to get legit, lump crab cakes. We had the grilled sampler and every item was excellent. Favorites were the crab cake and the scallops, both cooked perfectly. Also had the mushroom cream sauce mussel appetizer and they were really great too.

When in Wilmington DE, where should you eat? You are in a coastal city, with a beautiful Riverfront trail called Riverwalk. Let’s eat along the river front. Tap Tap Tap and google presents some wonderful choices. Big Fish Grill being among the best rated. Oh! And it has a 2 Dollar Sign ($) rating for the approximate expense for this restaurant. Perfect! Seafood in my budget range. Big Fish (BFG) first sets a little cracker plate down. Crackers? Yes, but it’s not about the crackers, it’s about the fish spread. Nice start BFG. Then came the Cream of Crab Bisque. It was excellent. I highly recommend it if you enjoy Bisques. So, now let’s get ready for the main attraction, the reason for choosing a Seafood Restaurant. I ordered the Lobster & Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Is there lots of lobster…Yes…is there lots of shrimp…Yes. The angel hair pasta and sauce could pass for decent. I think if I was to make it myself, I would choose a different pasta like straight up spaghetti as angel hair pasta has tendencies to clump as it awaits consumption. The shrimp were plump and sizeable, not over cooked. The lobster on the other hand must have been triple cooked. I get it because it needs to be boiled, then stuffed, then baked, but if you overheat/cook Lobster it gets hard, sticks to the shell, and plucks out like pulled pork. This! This is where BFG falls down a little. Please remember this is a two (2$) dollar rated restaurant so I shouldn’t be so picky. Dessert picked me back up and we headed toward the mountain top of my experience. The BFG specialty of Peanut Butter Pie was excellent! Then the check. Whooaaa! Inflation? Dollar Sign rating delay? Just be careful out there diners; wear your pacemaker, bring your oxygen tank, lug along your defibrillator, eating out is getting pricey.

Great atmosphere and even greater food. My family and I were all trying bites of eachothers food and enjoying all of it. One of us was having a birthday and they brought out a surprise cup of ice cream for her at the end of our dinner. Our waitress was so nice and was very attentive. One of the waitresses was even kind enough to take pictures for us. The outside eating area looked nice but it was too chilly to sit out there the day we went. You can even go on a river walk. They also have a sushi and sashimi bar. The mixed drinks were very good and a bit strong. My swordfish with shrimp rissoto and steamed broccoli was so delicious and I shared the jambalaya and that was great too. So many great choices to choose from.

About twenty minutes depending on traffic!
The price is GOOD for the portion size. I've never tried the crab cakes but everything else is really good.
Very close by, depends on what stores your looking for. But very enjoyable walk on the riverfront and even into the swamp areas.
From what I could tell, Big Fish Grill followed all CDC guidelines. Tables are spaced out. Masks are required.
Being a chef most restaurants will try to accommodate for that and or do ave separate things for it however that umoften doesn't doesn't always include the fyer!
We typically do carry flounder. Please visit our website at bigfishriverfront.com, we upload our daily specials before each lunch and dinner shift and includes the fish we have in stock on that day.
