Excellent trail for beginners. Visiting from Houston the elevation was a challenge. Also being overweight didn’t help but it was a great hike and I really enjoyed it. The views over the Dillon Reservoir are awesome.

Nice views of Dillon reservoir, from the Oro Grande trail, but the trail has very little shade and ends near the dump. There are much better trails in the area....

We took the left trail once you reach where the trailhead starts. It was very relaxing. Not a lot of elevation change. Very squishing ground where the pine trees start. Really neat tree scenery but no peak or water features. Would recommend if you are looking for a moderate trail.
