Hands down to the best pizza Neapolitan pizza in the PNW. The crust, sauce and cheese was amazing. Everything blended so well. I’ve tried baking Neapolitan pizza myself but couldn’t beat the crunchy and soft crust I had here. Every ingredient was shouting freshness. I’m amazed by the pizza. I wouldn’t miss this place if I’m ever crossing Portland. Thank you so much! There is a small arcade game area in the restaurant. Good place to beat the waiting time.

Apizza Scholls is very good pizza...but not life changing. It is often in the top 5 of Portland pizza lists. I finally tried it. The joint is definitely popular. I ordered half Moxie and half New York white. One reviewer said the New York white was the most delicious pizza they ever had. We thought it was very plain. It needed more toppings and flavor for our taste. The moxie side was good. They have very nice red wine. I had the Montepulciano – La Quercia. It was bold, smooth and low tannin. Staff are friendly. Parking can be a challenge. We still like Flying Pie better.

All I can say is that the pizza has a clean taste. The pizza from other places tastes better (richer in flavor), but I strangely feel drawn to the clean taste of this pizza thus making me put it above all others.

When we came here we were surprised that Portland was actually known for pizza. This was one of the several recommended spots, and it was one of the closest to New York style pizza I have had on the west coast. Would highly recommend the truffle flavor. The pizzas are quite large as well, would recommend getting half and half to try all the topping combinations (they all taste great).

Questions & Answers

Is this a good place to go for a birthday, my son said he wanted to go here

James Sinclair | Aug 20, 2018

Depends on how old. It's probably not a great birthday spot if your son is a kid. It's more of an upscale, authentic Italian pizza place. As an adult, I'd love to have a pizza party here! As a kid, probably not.

Does anyone know if they have a sourdough crust? I can't find that detail on their menu.

They do not. They make a nice simple crust with only 3 or so ingredients. They make a finite amount and they have often sold out. Best pizza crust I have ever had.
