My wife and I love Brown's. This location is nice. But don't come in to eat after 7:45 pm. That is when the worst smell you can imagine enters the dining room. The cleaning solution used on the floors will make you gag and your eyes will water. This smell is spread by a fan that sits on the floor and your meal is ruined. We had to pack up our food half way through our meal and leave.

Ordered the red beans & rice. It was literally canned red kidney beans on top of white rice. NO spices. Not very palatable. Usually beans & rice will be a thick, soupy beans with misc. spices & a scoop of rice. I took a photo of the monstrosity Brown's served up. I separated the beans from the rice. I will use the beans in something I will cook later.

I enjoy Brown's chicken ever since I can remember. Their quality hasn't degraded but pricing has gone up a bit...quite a bit!

This is a great Brown's location-- they don't disappoint and are consistently good. The food is always fresh, the staff are polite, and there's plenty of seating and parking. This is nothing at all like the lackluster one that existed at Lawrence/Central. The food at this Skokie location tastes as good as it did in the 80's when I grew up. I get the fried mushrooms every time I go here-- they are amazing and should be a centerpiece on the menu!
