Today my boyfriend and I decided to try out Mannys Snack Shack. Right when you walk in you’re immediately greeted with smiles and attention. I loved the atmosphere, felt like a true old diner. My boyfriend not so much. I can agree the decor felt a little overwhelming. The service was great! Our server was very attentive and friendly. She did a great job guiding us through the menu. Once we sat down we really started to notice the kitchen. If you’re going to have an open kitchen I’d recommend making it a cleaner environment. It was a little disturbing seeing that the cooks didn’t wear gloves. We also saw one of the waitresses grab bacon with her hands and put it on a plate for a table. The dishwasher was the one to “clean” off the tables. By that we mean he just grabbed the dishes, we didn’t notice anybody actually cleaning the tables off. Moving on to the food. Large. Portions! For as cheap as the food is I was not expecting all of that! I got the cinnamon French toast. Very good! If you have a big sweet tooth this is the meal for you. Unfortunately it was a little too sweet for me. My hash browns were a little bit over cooked. My boyfriend got Mannys Famous Chicken Wrap. It was alright. The chicken wasn’t good. His words, “taste like a McDonald’s Big Mac, but instead of the burger it was chicken nuggets.” I would love to revisit and try more food after more cleaner procedures start to take place. Our server, and everybody else working there, are one of the few reasons we’d like to go back.

Ordered half order biscuits & gray, completely filled a dinner plate. Asked Manny if this was a half order, he said yes. I the ordered a 3 egg omelette, which was humongous. Everything was delicious. Have been there many tlmes b/4 & will continue to go in the future. It’s a 52 minute ride to my, but it’s worth it.

Surprised at how floury tasting the pancakes were. Awful, just awful. Two out of our three orders were only just pancakes, no meat, no potatoes just the cakes. When our server came back to check in us, we told her that the pancakes were very floury tasting. She said she'd tell "them". Then, nothing. Guess we should have called her back over to remind her to remedy this. Meanwhile, we were given our full priced check. When the hostess asked how everything was, my husband replied that the pancakes weren't good. She "uh-huh'ed" him while running our credit card. Finally, I chimed in and remarked," it's very unusual that when you complain about a meal that the restaurant doesn't adjust your bill". The hostess THEN made eye contact and look right at us and asked ,"Oh? Was there something wrong?" 🤦🏻‍♀️ I pointed out that my husband had just offered that info. She pointed out she wasn't our server (unsure why) and asked if our server knew. Our server was standing right there when all this took place and I looked right at her and said that was our server and yes, she knew. I walked out of the restaurant and the hostess just told my husband that next time we shouldn't complain at the end of the meal???! Our server should have piped up and said that we didn't complain at the end of the meal and that she maybe just didn't know how to help us fix the problem. Will not return, ever.

Just had a great breakfast at Mannys. The portions are huge and everything was delicious. One person in our party ordered a bacon cheese burger that had more bacon than beef. Best biscuits and gravy around! You may have to wait but it is definitely worth it.
