I was skeptical when I walked it. I saw a cross and Christian faith related descriptions and symbols. My first questions were: “Are you faith based?” and “Are you a restaurant?”. It turns out that the restaurant is a not for profit that gives back to the community I believe to people that don’t have enough food. Their motto is “A southern kitchen on a local mission”. I looked at the menu and decided to give it a shot. The food is southern. I almost went with the fried chicken, but opted for boneless pork chop with collard greens and green beans. I did finish it all off with the banana pudding and a latte. The food was phenomenal. I suppose I was a little surprise. The decor of the restaurant was nice and my waitress was really good. The restaurant also has a full bar. Yes alcohol is served at this restaurant with a faith based mission. I suppose you couldn’t really exist as a restaurant in uptown Charlotte if you don’t serve alcohol.

Got reservations and were seated on time. We ordered some appetizers: boiled peanuts, deviled eggs, fried oysters, and a bread basket with biscuits and corn bread. The last item was so-so and kind of dry, but everything else was very good. We ordered the blackened catfish and shrimp and grits. Both were super good. Finished off with banana pudding, and chocolate torte both of which are excellent.

I love salmon and like to try any salmon dish that a restaurant may have. I don’t remember the exact name of the dish, but it’s located in the ‘Composed’ section of the menu. The salmon was juicy and there were nutty and sweet flavors and the mashed potatoes and crunchy sautéed artichoke bed was delicious . I would have like this dish even more if it were smoked. Overall the service is friendly and attentive.

Love the purpose of this place. The food is good, the service is acceptable (not exceptional) but the atmosphere is Great! I was greeted by a very professional staff. My meal came out hot and in a timely manner. I lived the wine and I live the mission of this establishment.

See website " Noble Pursuits." King's Kitchen is under that umbrella and they should. I am only a volunteer there with the Dream Center. Thank you for your kind inquiry.
I don't think they do cakes. We had our wedding reception here and they had no problem with us getting a cake delivered from a bakery.
5pm to 10pm on Saturdays
There is also metered parking along the street. Regardless of where you park, a great meal awaits you!
