Having worked in the service industry for over 30 years, I take reviews pretty seriously. I am apalled at the gall of the front desk clerk Mato. He absolutely should not be working in the hospitality industry. He was not a problem solver, but instead created a hostile environment. Even the people standing behind me as I was trying to provide him with the info that he needed to process my check in were shocked. And when I asked him, "Sir, do you treat all the guests at this hotel like this?" The lady behind me said yes, he's been rude to us since we got here and even made me sweep up a broken glass I accidentally dropped myself. Really Comfort Inn? Is this how you want your hotel to be known? Not only did he threaten me last week and insult me as I was bringing a guest there to stay that I needed to provide a credit card for, he said I should know better. Like I am a child? So I complained last week. Now, today, as my guest was in town again, and against my better judgement I booked this hotel again because it is convenient and Priceline gave me a good price with my VIP status. I was greeted with oh its you, why are you here? I thought you said you would not stay here again. WOW. He disappeared into a back room and came out to tell me that I am on the do not stay list!!! What? I have never been treated so poorly in my life and I have stayed in hotels all over the country. He called me a troublemaker. I beg to differ, he is the troublemaker. He said you called the manager. Yes I did, and I am doing it again. Do you not have cameras at this place?

The front-counter gentleman, Matos, was the best part of our stay! He was very friendly, kind and very professional. I could tell he took pride in his job in the polite manor in which he spoke to guest staying in the hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel room was not as clean as it should have been. Also, I found the other hotel staff to be unfriendly and rude to guest. Only Matos made this stay a 5 star! Matos, Thank you for your hospitality and great service! Hope to see you again in the future.

Positive: Updated shower and toilet area--vanity was in the foyer. AC unit was cool on a hot day but the air smelled musty. Guy at front desk was very nice. Negative: The undertones of cigarette smoke in the room. It must have been in the ac unit ventilation and in the window treatments. this hotel is very dark, dreary and outdated. Just not appealing compared to the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express near by.

I wish I could give this hotel a zero star rating as it was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had (and I’ve stayed in many hotels). We arrived after 1 am the night of our stay (we were in the area due to my husband’s job) and were thus, rightfully so, tired the next morning and unable to make the 11 am checkout. Although I understand the hotel’s need to clean their rooms etc, it was the hostility and sheer lack of hospitality of the staff and manager that were so striking when we were told to check out. Furthermore, we even tried to book a second night and my husband used the wrong card accidentally (he uses prepaid cards for his business) and we were accused of booking a “fake” stay just to avoid having to check out on time. Needless to say, I wouldn’t go near this place with a ten-foot pole if I were you. Take your money elsewhere—there are plenty of other hotels in the area. We will never be staying at another comfort inn again after this experience.
