Actually, the Y gift certificates you can purchase to give to a loved one, are designed to make it applicable for a multitude of services this facility offers. Whether it be to pay for a membership for a month, register for swim lessons, have your child take gymnastics classes, etc. There may be some exclusions (massage, personal training) although perhaps those are still eligible to be paid for using a gift certificate. All in all, yes you can buy a gift certificate for swim lessons, and for reassurance and final word you can always call the facility's front desk.

Both pools are open. I don't know about the jacuzzi. For me hours I'd check the website. They are pretty good at keeping it updated.
Yes, both pools are heated. The rec pool is kept a bit warmer than the competition pool.

Open gym for children of walking age to 5 years old takes place from 9:00 to 10:00, every morning Monday thru Friday. It is free for members, and I believe $10 for non-members. Great value considering the high-quality of the gymnasium and all other aspects of this facility.
They offer pick-up basketball for members every M/W/F at noon. When you check in you simply ask for a wristband for basketball which secures you a spot to play with the other members there for basketball. Just remember to keep your shirt on and not take the game too seriously!
I know the pool is open from 4:30am- 9:30pm m-thur. I know its open fri, sat and sun im just not sure about the pool hours on those days.
