I recently came to give the place a look, I could tell off the bat that the people are really nice, staff might need better training on operating their systems but they’re great people nonetheless . I came to check it out because I heard their gym was recently renovated, it was, but sadly it seems most of the budget went into the cardio machines. The cardio machines are great and look fantastic but sadly only that half of the room looks new. The free weights and machines are old, the plates are rusted and leave rust on the sleeves of plate loaded machines, the leg machines have rust on them. It’s a great setup/layout and if the equipment wasn’t so outdated it would be the perfect gym to set you up for success. If they were to maybe get something like a Prime Fitness - Plate Loaded Leg Ext/Leg Curl Combo , that alone would replace 3 pieces of their old equipment, maybe get new plates and machines that aren’t rusted or squeaking all the time and they’d be golden, even better maintenance on them would go a long way. I’d return in a heartbeat but sadly for now it’s catered much more towards the senior/family crowd than it is towards us young adults(20’s).

It's a good family place. Not the best but a good place. If anything shines, it is the staff. They alone are worth the membership. I joined. Revision to this review. After time and I became more familiar with the YMCA, I canceled my membership. I originally got the membership to swim in the Summer. However, the pool was always closed. So my kids used the pool 0 (zero) times this last Summer. The staff for the gym all operate on different philosophies, rules and regs. It became stressful and intimidating for us all. My kids stopped wanting to go. We now exercise at the local schools. So sad to have to give a negative review to a place that has such great potential.

I started coming as a first time mom and they really helped me with learning how to trust others with my first born and helping her get used to being without mommy sometimes. She loves the YMCA and always looks forward to the childcare while i'm in the gym. She is only 19 months and has already taken swim twice and gymnastics at the YMCA. They have great programs for children and adults. They have helped my family so much and have a couple programs to assist with finances. Check them out!

Nice facility. Good gym. Pretty good family activities overall. My main annoyance is that when trying to enroll my kids in swimming lessons, their aquatics director never calls you back, and/or schedules the swim instructors for the wrong times. Very disorganized.

I totally agree
No they dont. But Mira Costa College does for free. They are very close to the YMCA. www.miracosta.edu
I think as a one time visit.
I've been paying for more than a year just to use the pool but know little about it since it just reopened after being closed for nearly a year. I'm having trouble scheduling a lane because the application doesn't work constantly (sign in fails). I'm frustrated with the whole thing. The pool is heated but what's the point if you can't schedule time to swim?
No hot tub. The pool is outdoors very big and yes bring your own locker.
Not at the moment. There are a few beginner martial arts classes. Their class rotation changes from time to time. You can find the current list of classes on their website
Please refer to the website, as the hours are subject to change based on time of year: https://www.ymca.org/locations/joe-and-mary-mottino-family-ymca Scroll down to the Aquatics Schedule PDF.
The rates are on the website. www.mottino.ymca.org. It depends on what plan you sign up for. There are scholarship s, too.

i would like to know what summer camps available for ages 3 to 7 years of age, also the cost for attaining the camps thank you
Pool is open year round. Kids activity pool with slide opens around Memorial Day
Check the website for hours. The pool is heated year round
There are steps to get into the lane pool. You can walk on the lane until you get to the depth where you cannot go deeper. There are floaties, kickboards, aqua dumbbells available there. They offer water exercise classes where the teacher encourages the students to do what they can so they do not injure themselves.
