Rude manager that does not look women in the face, very disrespectful and poor customer service skills drive another 20 minutes to another location instead

Customer service is horrible at this location! I believe the woman’s name was Jo that’s assisted me with a return. From the beginning of our interaction she was rude and short with me. I asked if she had a waste basket behind the counter to throw away the HG plastic bag. Rudely, she responded “as long as I’m wearing a mask, we are not taking plastic bags” But I’m bringing back items, so what’s the difference? Then she kept saying the items would not scan into the computer for some reason and ask me where I purchased them. The receipt and stickers clearly say HomeGoods in Virginia. Now that I have read the reviews for the store…it seems like this is something they do in order to deter you from making a return. At one point, she acted like she couldn’t do the return because part of the sticker was peeling…as if I’m a liar? I stood firm in the fact that I wanted a return, about 5 minutes has passed at this point of her hesitating and not really finishing her sentences when I ask her what’s the issue…then I notice the keypad asking if I want a printed receipt. She never acknowledged the system was now working…just handed me my cash then told me to have a good day in a condescending tone as she was looking at the next customer. Which leads me to believe she was lying the entire time and just mad because she had to do a return. I will not patronize this store. They need to retrain their employees on being honest.

so i am in #homegoods and came to return a stepping stool that broke from underneath me. I go to the cashier and explain to her what happens and she spends over 5 minutes talking to the store manager; she comes back places a sticker on the stool and asks me for my identification. i look at her and ask if she told her manger what happened and she says no; i ask her to speak with the manager, once he comes over i explain to him that i bought a stool and it was defective in his nature. Why must i go through this extensive process of completing a return for $7 ( mind you it’s not the money it’s the principle behind it) His response, of the bat is combative w/ me, so i ask him for his name. He gives me his first name and walks away as i’m asking him for his last name. I ask the cashier for his last name and she refused to give it to me. So yes i called the non emergency police to the store. Once the police arrived they got his last name and then the store filled out a trespassing notice for me ( as if i would want to shop her again ) !! Then i was told by the policeman that the stool in question was not from this store- low and behold i ended up finding the receipt that listed the stool on it (storage organizer). So not only was this handled inappropriately but they tried to make me out to be a liar ! Personally i was lucky that i didn’t fall on my back and severely injury myself !

One of the best Home Goods in the area! We decorated all our furnished condos from Home Goods store including some furniture, like chairs, tables, coffee tables, end tables, lamps, pictures, rugs, plates, towels, silverwear.

Not ideal. A lot of people inside at the same time, and floor arrows not respected or reinforced by staff, so you keep running into strangers.
Yes they do! I recommend oversize comforters, they are snuggly and can be spill resistant.
You can try T.J.-Maxx in pg mall. It has HomeGoods stuff in there
You're lucky I know what antimacassaer covers are! They were used to protect chairs and sofas from the macasser oil men put on their hair. No, Home goods does not carry them, but in their place you can probably use the small linen, cotton, or lace covers they sometimes carry as pieces to under lamps, as placemats, etc. If you want real ones, try eBay or an antique / vintage store. Gave the last of mine away. Good luck dear! Lin
