It's a great time to go here. We do frequent museums of various sorts from Creation museums to making baseball bats. This is a great museum. It's got a ton of stuff in there and you won't be bored by any stretch App was extremely helpful and we are one of the last ones going through and they actually spent some extra time with us and they were very accommodating. Obviously part of it is outside so the climate control is going to be a little off depending on the type of day you have so make sure that you bring appropriate gear for that day and obviously this is Colorado so it's a given that you have water with you at all times. The restroom was clean the vignettes were amazing and really recommend that you go. If you choose not to go you'll just be missing out on some really interesting Colorado history and we actually use the guided tour. As you know, tip your tour guide... Blessings to all...

Only bad thing was no tour guide but it wasn't worth subtracting a star. I enjoyed listening to the owner via QR codes on each exhibit, that helped a lot. I loved the out buildings that were built to look like an old west town. They have quite the collection and it is displayed very well. This was a perfect little stop on my way to Black Canyon. Thank you!

Must see place! In fact, for history buffs, this is a reason to go to Montrose. Get into a guided tour, these tour guides bring it history to life!

This was a spur of the moment stop along our road trip. We circled back to see what this place was about and were just in time to join the next tour group. Everyone that worked there just seemed really amazingly friendly. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and thorough! The tour ended up being about 3 hours! And there was still so much to look at but we had to get on the road. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that loves antiques and old buildings. All the buildings are authentic and were carefully refurbished. This whole thing was put together by one man who started his collection of antiques at age 4! The collection is quite large and curated well! It was really enjoyable and we appreciated it a lot! It was well worth the price of admission!

The shooting with thw shotgun happened in what is called the murder house where a man killed his wife and daughter the closest thing to finding anything out was that there were 2 daughter the wife had told them to hide in the basement before her husband had shot her them shot the girls then shot himself there is a whole video on ghost adventures about it
Glad you enjoyed the book! You guide was Katie and I'll be sure to pass this on to her! Thank you so much for stopping and visiting our museum!
Inside the main building it is wheelchair friendly, it is a bit harder in the gravel outside but we also have a golf cart that takes persons around as well
