We love the park. There is so much for everyone to do. The ONLY issue I have, especially when my son was small, is they removed alot trees a while ago that provided some much needed shade in the play ground area. There still is some, and they have added the water sprayers which helps cool the kids down and are very fun but it doesn't help with tiny babies. There is shade along on the outside of the track but I wouldn't want to be that far from my kid. Basically, bring your sunscreen!

The plan was to play Lazer tag. We were wearing our darkest outfits and ready to tear up that Lazer arena for the <10 spring break crowd. But it was closed. So we went to this park. And it started to rain. And the kids still had fun. And I think that says a lot.

Beautiful park by the Allegheny River with something for almost everyone. There is a smooth path down on the North side (close to the bridge). There are tennis courts, basketball courts, a large pavilion, and a spacious playground. I think if you are maybe nine to twelve years old, you might be missing any play area activity designed for you. Also, no dogs allowed. Not sure why. There is a great walking path under the trees lined with adult swings.

Questions & Answers

Can I bbq openly at this park? It's not a crowd of people, it's only myself and children.

There are two pavilions that can be reserved, each has it's own charcoal briquette style grill where you could bring your food and briquettes and do a BBQ. Most of the time these pavilions are empty but I'd reserve one to be safe, especially for an event/family gathering.

Is the park animal friendly?
