I love this trail, especially since its available all year round. In summer it gets pretty warm, but its wide open and easy access is awesome. The rock structure around is pretty cool, its very desert like, and the myriad of lakes actually have quite a bit wildlife! Beware of snakes in summer. You can also ride a mountain bike here, some areas are a bit rocky though. There are many options of trails that snake do the valleys so you can spend a lot of time exploring! The last time I've been there the trailhead had a porter potty as well.

This area is absolutely a hidden gem - if you're considering rock climbing, camping, taking pics, or just taking in the views, I highly recommend this trail. It is mostly flat and easier than you'd think to hike. There are multiple beautiful waterfalls to see along the way. We also saw several marmots and colorful birds as well. Camping is very dispersed so we slept at the bottom of a waterfall and it was fantastic. You can see so many stars here at night as well. The pictures do not do this area justice.

It's a great hiking trail with waterfalls and beautiful scenery. I saw osprey, Canadian geese, diving ducks, and pied-billed grebes by the lakes, while swifts and swallows flew overhead! Remember to bring all your own water, since the water present there is contaminated with chemicals from agricultural runoff.

Yes there is! But the access to fishing is much easier at a different trail head to the east. Sorry, can't recall the exact name.
