Found Union United Way on 211... living in this Global Covid-19 Cloud , it’s important that we check-in on those who’ve been following guidelines, staying at home and doing it all alone. We must remember our neighbors/friends and see what they need or could use. United Way is facilitating in different ways to help & assist our community! Among variety community outreaches and services that United Way provide ... their food distribution is Top Notch! I called late in the afternoon and left a voicemail.... shortly after (2 hours max) BRIAN returned my call. He was friendly, cordial and informative. Gave me clear & detailed directions and specific instructions. Set my appointment up for the next day. It was seamless! No wait , paperwork, interview or credentials to present... They had my name and rolled out a shopping cart Full if groceries (6 bags) which was distributed among 4 adults! Healthy, fresh and a few delicious treats!! The woman I interacted with was kind, polite and genuine! 5 +++ For a well organized, structured, smoothly run, efficient Food distribution Site-giving out substantial amount of food! Truly unsung heroes! Thankful for them and Their professional Style of Care and overall aid in community development!

I’m sorry to have to write this review but it’s valid information for people seeking food bank assistance. I was referred here by the SD Food Bank and was told I needed to make an appointment. I called several times and left two voicemails until the message “voicemail is full” came on. Finally, about a week later, I received a callback and was told they couldn’t help?! Whaaa? Surprised and disappointed.

Perhaps you can go speak to someone from the office personally to see what piece of advice they can give you or it might help if you call the human services line at 211 to see if they can help you to report whoever is committing this type of fraud. They open 24/7.
They won't be open until Monday morning. Call 211 San Diego to see if they have weekend / after hour resources for food. Literally just dial 211.
Call the human services line at 211 and they should be able to refer you to an organization. Good luck!
Have you tried the cancer society or 211?
