It's a nice little lake to fish or just sit and get away from the city. I didn't get a chance to hike the trails so maybe next time I will. I think its worth going back for a second look in the fall when the weather is cooler. UPDATE: I still have yet to hike the trail here but definitely found myself up to my ankles in ice and slush trying to go towards the little pier where the benches are. Still a nice little place to park your car and watch the sun set in the winter.

So beautiful, especially in the early morning when you might catch a glimpse of the beaver that lives here. Seems like a very healthy ecosystem, I've seen frogs and salamanders here. Plus they made one-way signs for walking around the lake which really helps with social distancing.

This is one of the more accessible and scenic walks in the CVNP. It's easily accessed from the main road, with a lot of parking, and the trail around the lake is easy and short (1 mile). It's especially nice at dawn and dusk. For a longer hike, there's a trail that adds a couple of miles and some decent elevation changes. It's a good trail run, as well.

This is a nice park with a well-maintained trails surrounding the lake. There are few stairs in the trail. There are benches and picnic tables both in the shelter and outside near the lake. The lake has a dock where people can fish or enjoy the lake view.
