The 8 9 is a super place to go if you like to play pool but don't want to go to a pool hall with eleventy-seven tables. The staff is friendly, although a little guarded, but that comes with the territory at a bar sometimes. The tables are well-felted, the bar cues are straight and in good condition, and the atmosphere on a Friday night was a really good vibe. Also, they have this peanut butter porter that sounds gross, but was really quite tasty. I will definitely go back there and I would definitely recommend.

This place is huge! Everything you want in a friendly neighborhood dive bar. At least 10 nice pool tables, lotto. There are a bunch at TVs with an assortment of sports showing. The staff is happy to put on whatever game you’d like to watch. The crowd varies from young to old and it really feels like all are welcome. I didn’t try the food but it looked and smelled good. The staff was prompt and friendly. I’ll be visiting more often for sure.
