Amazing spot. If highway/train noises bother you, do not stay here as it is audible from everywhere on the site. The renovated bathrooms were wonderful. It was great having flush toilets and sinks with running water. Fire ban was still in effect but there were lots of fire rings for whenever it is lifted. There were a few hikers who ended up strolling through the site on accident, it’s great that there’s a gate to keep unwanted vehicles out. Receptacles for trash and returnable cans and bottles (cleaned) were available to use. There’s potable water as well. We had a fantastic time and are excited to go back next year.

Hidden jwel. They don't seem to open it very often. Seems to be for groups but you can walk around just leave your car in the lot by the gate. Well worth it. Have been there many times over the years great place to bring some food an spend the day. Plenty of places to get off to yourself. Views everywhere and old craftsmanship all still in great shape. Quite a few BBQ pits around. Also when you go the only exit is coming from Portland. And leaving the only way is towards hood river. So. PLAN ahead.

This spot is absolutely fantastic. Lots of places to explore, some great trails to explore and loads of nice places to throw up a tent. The view of the river and mountains is amazing. The lodge is super neat too (again the view... Stellar). Fire pits/places all over which i thought was really neat. And the overlooks super cool. Great place to explore and escape the city. Be glad to claim the spot again.

Amazing private campground! We got lucky and were able to get the private camp and will definitely come back. The staff is awesome and helpful. My group and kids had a blast and didn't want to leave! Oh, and the views, just awesome! Highly recommend this campground!!

Yes there is a fair fee, but its not going to be open this year at all. My husband and i went around the cones in the road and went under the bridge perfect spot not burned in that area. We werr there a short time before a ranger came up and told us its closed and we couldnt stay. I asked him about the Eagle Creek trail and he said closed and wont be open this year. He doesnt know about next year but he said its closed for safety reasons too much falling debree. Hope this helps. Julia
As far as I know NO the camp did not suffer damage.
Well it's not in the camp it self....but the area is being evacuated.... I believe their going to Skamnia fairgrounds in Wash..... The fire has NOT been contained.... And trails are closed from Bridal Vail falls...almost to the Dallas.
