I probably purchased a couple thousand dollars worth of tools from this place they are well priced but the quality leaves you lacking and yearning for more I've had to return several big items which they didn't have Replacements of and the store is not very close to me so I try to make sure that when I go they are in stock with everything

Purchased with cash and told the clerk I would be taking the sockets (metric) out onto the parking lot to see if they fit the fork cap on my motorcycle. I did not divulge my name or phone # when at the point of sale. This was a 21.00 purchase of sockets up to 22mm. and I wasn't sure if 22 would fit it and I couldn't find an arrangement with larger sockets in the store that were standard height sockets. Upon checking and verifying the nut was larger than 22mm., I returned into the clerk to return the item. Suddenly returning the item becomes a problem because I didn't tell them my name & phone #.. I've discovered that Harbor Freight has contracted with a 3rd. party company to help prevent chronic returners from returning and that name and/or phone number is important as it allow them to identify whether or not they want to take your return based on past history. The fact that a cash sale being returned might face a no should be posted on their doors. I've been a customer since 1992 probably have spent 5-10k there in larger shop tools have never had problems like this in 30 yrs. with them. I saw the time stamp on my receipt originally was 10:26 the staff there couldn't help me as the drawer wouldn't open for them to issue the credit. I asked them if they could just open the drawer, return my cash and figure out the receipt later when they could call their corporate office. No we don't do business that way,, (Walter). Ok, so they say another mgmt. person, Kevin is coming in who may be able to help. He comes in after 11:00 am. tries to run the credit, still a problem. I ask him if they can issue my cash back to me and figure it out later to which he says no. Minutes continue to tick by and eventually he opens the drawer and gives me my cash return w no receipt. I said, so you did what I asked you to do in the beginning? He said yes, this was approaching one hour to return the cash paid for an item that went out their door for less than 3 minutes. The staff was professional and kind, the "rules" weren't! Sorry to say that my coin and patronage will go elsewhere now that I am fully aware of how little Harbor Freight cares about their customers' time! I'm leaving one star only because they are afforded that by the review agency, my preference would be that of -0- to more properly show their averages.

Harbor freight is a good place to buy tools, garage stuff, tarps, fasteners, etc. I look for the coupons online and usually buy based on whatever are the best deals. Store is clean and well stocked. Cashier was friendly. Nice, clean restrooms too. I'll definitely be back here.
