Last night my husband and I went out for our tenth anniversary. We wanted someplace special that had more than one safe option. I can’t have gluten, dairy and tomato. Never fails, every time we go out eat it seems like I have to send my food back or get sick. Eating out is scary. It’s very limiting. I picked Canary. It was the perfect choice. There were options! At the beginning of the meal I mentioned I have a gluten and dairy allergy, which I always do and it never seems to matter. I’m just a fade in the crowd and a seemingly picky one. Several of the things I ordered had hidden dairy. The server was all over it. She was back and forth several times after I ordered. She talked to the chef. Notified me about all the places the dairy was hidden. They provided me with options for swapping ingredients. I told the server I was shocked and pleased and that I ALWAYS get sick when I eat out. I thanked her for watching out for me. She said, “No problem! ITS MY JOB TO MAKE SURE YOU DONT GET SICK.” 😭 I’ve never felt so cared for at a restaurant. Eating out is alienating and a reminder of all the things I can’t have. This experience was so loving. I didn’t feel like a pest or a burden. There are even gluten free/dairy free desert optionS! Yes… more than ONE!!! 😮 The food was incredible. Ambiance was great. Staff was first class. I can’t wait to go back. Add it to your short list…and get the short rib. Scallops were perfect. Smoked oysters were a delicious treat I didn’t know I needed. And not one bit of digestive discomfort!!!

Dropped in for a late Valentine's dinner on Wednesday night. Had octopus carpaccio with sausage, braised short ribs and pork stew. Every item was absolutely delicious. Very reasonable prices. Incredible cocktails. Highly recommend. As good as you will find in Kansas City.

Visited for holiday pop-up. Loved the drinks and the elegant setting. Didn’t try food, but looked good coming out of the kitchen. Service was excellent and made great drink recommendations.

This was our first visit for dinner. Previously we had been in their rooftop bar, which has great views and good cocktails (especially on a nice night). Dinner was inside tonight. The dinner was good. The entree menu is limited but the shared plates had decent variety. Had the burger which was good. We struggled with the wine list because they were out of both bottles we requested. Wait staff was friendly. Restrooms were clean.
