Came on a Saturday evening after the st Helens summit. This is one of the nearest places to the trail head so we stopped for dinner and was very happy by the choice.l. We tried the grilled chicken burger, bacon cheese burger and volcano burger. The volcano burger was the best among them, with double patty this was what we needed 😊. We also got some jalapeno poppers which were okay. We wanted to try the eruption but they were sold out. Now all the burgers were really good, tasty and the side of clam chowder was also pretty decent.

It was a busy Sunday early afternoon, but our wait girl was fantastic. She gave us a heads up that they were down a cook, and we could see they were very busy. The food was great, very hot, right off the grill!

My tire exploded (not hyperbole) and I found myself stranded in Cougar. Imagine my surprise to find that the only bar serves reasonably priced fantastic pizza and was MORE than happy to accommodate the very frustrated and tired me. While I do not recommend having your tire explode, if you find yourself in or travel through Cougar be sure to stop and say "Hi", you won't regret it.

They serve a new curly fry that is thick like steak fries to replace tots, which they no longer offer. The Elk burger is a refreshingly different option. The fish and chips are not bad. The beer selection is always good with the usual domestics and the best of the area IPAs.
