It's midnight. Been enduring this situation for 2 hours now: We were woken up by loud sounds, banging, things hitting the floor, rolling around, from room above. Tried to wait it out, unable to fall back to sleep as the noise continued. Eventually personal item fell off the bathroom shelf onto the floor due to the walls shuttering. Attempted to locate the source, just had a conversation with someone upstairs whom states the room she's in is a private residence. (The door to her room is an emergency exit door) .This is the oddest layout/setup I've seen. Appears to be a 2nd "Private residence " up there on 3rd floor as well. Other comments: disgusting filthy pink chair in our room (appears to have years of dirt/dust build up) , no AC no central HVAC (which wasn't disclosed), no shower in room (public showers down the hall, also not disclosed. No service staff after 8:00, no one answers the hotel phone (so no one available to help qwell the disturbance tonight). I should be asleep now, not having to deal with this. Checking out tomorrow after 5 days here. Will report back with additional info / update.

We had a quick brunch before heading to our destination. Food was delicious and reasonable considering cost of being on an island.

From start to finish our stay at the Orcas Hotel was just wonderful. The staff who work there are the most kind, thoughtful, and cheerful people you can find…Hailey, Johanna, and Quinn - to name a few! They are all quick to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and the warm environment you feel upon entering the hotel is what gives it such a special charm. The food at the cafe is AMAZING. The sourdough bread is homemade from their own in-house sourdough starter, and it is the best bread you will ever eat. We asked for a few slices to take up to our room, and Quinn kindly toasted, buttered and salted to perfection! Our room was cozy and the water stays hot! All-around a wonderful experience in a unique hotel rich in the history of Orcas Island.

They people that manage and work at this hotel are the best. The service was outstanding our entire stay. We took advantage of the private dinner offering and that was superb. Make sure you book Rm. 14 or 15 to get a patio and view of the water. We could not be happier with our stay.
