Earth & Sea is one of the best meals I’ve had in Carlton. It’s a fancier place with a very chic vibe. You can watch the cooks make the food. Lots of meat and fish options on the menu that are high quality. It’s on the pricier side but worth it for the food and atmosphere.

This place is a real find! In the middle of a tiny town I've never heard of my wife surprised me with one of the best dinners I've ever had. Great selection of small plates to try a little of everything. Fantastic service with great knowledge of the menu and drinks selections. Highly recommend this place for any special occasion, make a reservation.

We are blown away by the Carlton community and at the center of that community, there’s a magical little place called “Earth and Sea”. This place hits the three categories that mean the most to me; in fact, they blow them out of the water. Firstly, their food. Obviously it’s restaurant, so the food has to be good. Both their surf and turf offerings are fantastic, their breadboards will blow your mind and their desserts are phenomenal. Secondly, the environment. I’d consider this to be in the middle of the “fine dining” spectrum so it’s extremely approachable, extremely welcoming, well thought out and has high end finishes. Beautiful space, open kitchen, opening dining area, plenty of seating and beautiful bar wrap. Lastly, the staff. Unreal. I’m telling you.. some of the best hospitality that I’ve gotten. Andy knows A LOT about wine and has put together a really fantastic wine program and actually spends time at the tables discussing the wines, helping with pairings, etc. They are extremely knowledgeable and makes the service industry look easy. Connery is one of the best servers we’ve experienced. On top of their tables, conversational, hilarious, has obviously been doing this a long time and adds so much value to the holistic experience of the restaurant. The kitchen staff, not only makes great food, but because of the open kitchen, is visible and extremely pleasant. Waved goodbye when we were leaving and thanked us for coming in. Again, all of them are obviously well-experienced and take pride in what they’re doing. I don’t care if you’re in Portland, Salem, Eugene— frankly anywhere— you need to experience Carlton and you can’t leave the town without experience Earth and Sea. Service and food were wonderful. The patio is great during the summer, best to sit inside during the winter. We make a reservation every couple of months, excellent restaurant.
