Deli isn’t much to look at, but it is definitely worth the stop. Ordered the egg salad and a build your own sandwich. Both were very good! The people working were both very friendly and accommodating. The location by the park is also a big plus. Would definitely stop again.

Amazing fresh sandwiches from a no frills place. I’ve heard about this place from locals and it did not disappoint! I got the muffuletta sandwich which was delicious and reasonably priced, the sandwich with a drink came to $12. Service was fast and friendly and the place was very busy which is a testament to how good it is.

This little deli on Coolidge Park is not exactly the most aesthetically pleasing establishment; but, you won't find a better sandwich in Chattanooga than in this little joint. The specials are always on point, but you better go early as they tend to sell out. Don't worry though, you can still have an amazing sandwich from the standard menu as they all rock! I got the Reuben and the Muffuletta both were fantastic. The Muffuletta didn't have the standard olive tapenade, rather an artichoke tapenade, giving it a unique but delicious flavor! The thousand island sauce paired with the rye bread for my Reuben was amazingly delicious making my sandwich creamy. If you want a good sandwich you can either take to the nearby park or quickly stop in this is a nice place to grab a bite. I've been to River Street Deli many times and only just finally decided to write this review as they deserve the recognition. For the past few years it's been consistently good quality and delicious.

You get a real experience buying a sandwich here. You ever think ‘what would it be like to go to one of those corner deli’s in New York?’ Bruce, the owner, is going to greet you and take your order. You can try looking at the menu beforehand and deciding what you want. But Bruce is going to get to know you very quickly, and tell you what kind of sandwich you want that day. And he’s right every time. If you’re looking for lunch today, you can go get pre-sliced provolone and Boars head ham right up the street at Jimmy John’s. Or you can get the cheese blend that Bruce traveled to Italy and back to perfect or the incredible Philly Ruben. There is no decision to make, River Street Deli has the best experience and best lunch in town.

I'm thinking they used to have a room in the back for dinner parties. Not sure if it's still there.
