Coming from Colorado, I have no experience with Aldi. I found it lean on choices. Maybe it is because that store is in a less affluent area. If that's the case, I have a new appreciation for the term "food desert". The store was packed and the checkout line was long. I wasn't able to find pet food at all. There wasn't a lot of fresh produce, and each section carried the essentials, but not much more. Except beer and liquor. That section was pretty big, in comparison.

First Aldi experience in MANY MANY years. The store was not super busy, so that was very nice. The only downside was the bagging my own items thing. Next time, and there will be a next time, I will be prepared with my own bags. Overall...I liked the experience.
