I love this place! Easy hikes, free parking, not too far from Denver, and the people that go here are friendly! I loved the creek! After walking through the entire loop, my feet started to hurt so I just went into the creek and it was so refreshing and fun! There are so many small trails here and there and so you feel like you’re in an enchanted forest! (This is hard to find near Denver!) Overall, it was a nice escape from the city today!

Its a great place for a day outing , Hiking or for a picnic on your way to Evergreen ....with lot of picnic spots with tables and creek flowing on your side...its a busy place during a day,so finding a parking place may be little difficult. I believe there 3 to 4 hiking trails..we took a shorter one/easy level with kids which is kind of a complete loop starting from parking lot and ending there...just make sure you carry a jacket or a layer as sometimes its windy

Super amazing park with plenty of trailheads and paths. Cool mountain water streams along one of the paths. Truly an epic spot, especially if you are from Denver and need a quick getaway.

Great Jefferson County Open Space Park within a quick drive of Denver. Fair sized passing lot, but only a couple spaces were open on a summer weekday at about 10am. I would imagine the lot is often full on weekends. Easy short walk to Bear Creek (<5 mins) from the parking lot. Some good short trails as well. 0.5 miles+ loops.

Questions & Answers

Is this a good place to take a little old lady who lives in a nursing home for a nice lunch in the "mountains?" Picnic tables need to be close to parking, she uses a walker. Or any other thoughts on picnic lunch in the area. Thanks.

She should handle the park fine. Close by picnic tables, clean bthrm facilities. Though dirt, her wheelchair/walker will handle it well. Have fun.
