Great little day spot. Has a picnic tables, walking trails, a bathroom and plenty of space to play and observe nature. My kids and familes go to!

Had fun with my family would love to go again had fun riding the side by side trails and going up to eagles nest the views are amazing had great accessibility for Boondocking and has a great creek to look at and enjoy great to see all the trails One thing I can say is you can get lost up there if you don’t have maps to look at depending on if you’re new to going there it is very dusty when riding so I would suggest having windshields on side-by-side or whatever vehicle you’re going up in there with

A nice little area for a small picnic for some family time out in the forest. There are some picnic tables, a public bathroom, and all next to a small stream. Its a really beautiful spot, but other than that, that's about it. Maybe nice to do small camping, but for hiking trails, you might want to go further up the road. Requires a Discover Pass.

Just for the sake of history, I would like to say I helped install a good portion of this campground, as well as other sites up middle and north fork, while doing the job of my lifetime as a young man on fire crew at the Ahtanum fire crew site next door. This was what we did between fires, which in those days were fairly infrequent most summers (my stint was 1966-72). We had a 15 man crew that traveled and a 5 man crew that stayed. Sadly lost touch with my fellow crew members over the years, but the memories are vivid. A visit back in 2004 revealed the creep of climate change as the vegetation became more sparse, especially higher up. But this is a quiet and beautiful niche only 30 mins west of Yakima and Union Gap and worth a Sunday drive an picnic any time the weather is good. Enjoy!

Questions & Answers

Can you camp overnight here with an rv? And can you ride side by sides from here?

Yes you can with a discovery pass. There are several trails that you can drive side by side, trail bikes both pedal and powered. Nice views all around. , side,

Do we only need one discover pass for a family gathering picnic of 30 family members to spend the day at Ahtanumn Meadows?

You need one Discovery pass for each vehicle.
