Great trail head park in the hills above North Salt Lake. The park has a pavilion and several nice secluded picnic tables. There is also the coolest boy scout project there. It has all the necessary tools to fix bikes attatche by cables to a mounted pole. I thought this was just the coolest. Go check it out

Small park with some swings. There is a decent trail here as well with a view over North Salt Lake and Legacy park. The trail is split for bikes and hikers, but part of the loop is shared so expect to share the trail. Probably a pretty good place to bike as there is a dedicated downhill part for bikes only.

Great views very quickly from most of the trails. Trails connect to many outside the park that lead to Salt Lake or up into the Wasatch Front. Not crowded most days.

This is a beautiful trail that is very kid-friendly. The Wild Rose Loop is just under 2 miles with the option of a shortcut. About half of the trail has amazing views while the other half is lined with awesome Scrub Oak. Portions of this trail are shared with bikers, so hikers should be aware. Bonus: the trail head is based at a park with a playground which makes for great motivation for easily discouraged kids.

It is more difficult than a first time beginner trail. The loop is not long but it is more advanced than riding something like Matt's Flat in the round valley set in Park City. It is not a technical trail.
Yes for the main pavilion. But there are tables around the park, and if the main pavilion is not reserved it can be used. Can make reservations at nslcity.org
