Ever book a hotel on line and not know what you are getting when you arrive? This was a pleasant surprise. The pool was nice and refreshing, yes we shared it with the swimming lesson kids. Our room was newly remodeled, nice comfortable beds, the floors were done with hard wood flooring, very nice looking. Continental breakfast was cereal, toast,rolls, and make your own waffles, juice,milk and coffee. The staff was pleasant. Price was under $ 100.00 a night. Only bad part was the roads getting to the hotel were kind of inconvenient.

Positive: Location to downtown Belle Plaine. Newly renovated rooms. Negative: Exterior was worn, especially the back deck. Renovation of room was not 100% complete. Breakfast was not really breakfast. Coffee maker in room didnt work.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Owner was extremely rude. While we were trying to check out of the room the guy flipped the inside lock latch that held the door open while we still had our belongings in the room and said the key card stops working at 11...it was 11:06. He flipped the latch as my husband was trying to get the last of the belongings out of the room and he knew we were leaving and packing up because he was watching me carry out my personal pillows from home then went on to accuse my husband of stealing their pillows. As he's standing in front of our room door blocking it, my husband had to tell him he better reopen that door right now to get our belongings out. The night before the owner was rude while my son and I were in the pool. He expected us to share towels with other guests, unknown people to us because he didn't want to get any fresh towels. The other guests were like we aren't sharing we had to go get these ourselves from the front desk. Breakfast was poor...unless all you want to eat is cereal or a bagel.

My stay was good until we went to swim in the pool and a lady came in to teach swimming lessons. It was 10am on a Saturday and the lady was yelling loudly and telling the children to yell loud enough for the front desk to hear. My children were frightened so we (and all of the other guests in the pool) left the pool area. We stayed here mostly to use the pool so this was a very unpleasant surprise. Yes we can all share the pool but not when half of the pool room is filled with her swimming lesson supplies, life jackets, diving toys, noodles, floaties etc (which she told all of the other kids in the pool they were not allowed to touch). I called the front desk and they said “this is how our pool works everyone can share it”. The pool is not large enough for swimming lessons and recreation swimming at the same time. The staff was extremely rude and condescending.
