Don't purchase a door built by Northwest, either directly or through another seller such as Precision Door in Portland. Northwest is a dishonest and unreliable company that will not stand behind the doors they build. We purchased an expensive garage door that was built by Northwest after we replaced the siding on our house. Less than 6 months after the garage door was installed, one of the panes of glass shattered. Precision Door, who we purchased the door from, recommended that we contact Northwest Door, who informed us that they would not help us resolve the issue. Precision agreed to replace the glass pane free of charge. Six months later, another glass pane unexpectedly shattered. We have asked for either a full refund of our money or for the top panel to be replaced with glass that will not shatter, at no cost to us. Both Northwest and Precision are washing their hands of this issue now that they have our money. The door is clearly defective, but neither company will take responsibility for it. Precision blames Northwest. Northwest claims that it is not their fault. They are both dishonest and refuse to stand behind the products they sell. Instead, they continue to offer excuses. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and we plan to take legal action against Precision if the situation is not resolved. I wish that we would have purchased a door from The Home Depot or Lowe's instead. Northwest is a disgusting, dishonest, and dysfunctional company.
