Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rice Lake, an IHG Hotel

Nice new clean and modern hotel, courteous staff, decent breakfast but the television set up is greatly lacking! There is no guide on the television to tell you any information on what’s on any of the channels. The only way to know is to go to the channel and watch to see what’s on. Definitely need’s to be addressed!

This is my second time staying at this hotel, which is very close to the interstate and is a clean property. It's also one exit away from a number of restaurants and fast food options. Upon arrival, it started out much different than my first visit. I approached the front desk with an empty lobby and the woman abruptly said she'd be a few minutes and was finishing something up. I stepped back and to wait and the woman looked at me and let out a chuckle. At the other IHG properties, I'm warmly greeted and typically thanked for my loyalty status. After a minute, a different woman came in from getting her license plate number outside. As she was leaving the front desk with her keys, an older gentleman went up to the desk trying to purchase a soda. She then waited on someone else who wasn't ahead of me before she asked if she could help me. There was no mention of breakfast hours, if the exercise room or pool were open, etc. which is standard at most other hotel brands. The room itself was also not what I reserved. While it was the same type of room, it was a handicap room and was located next to the elevators and ice machine. Its' layout is such that the ice machine is on the other side of the wall 10' away from where the bed is. I did not get much sleep due to the constant use of the ice machine, in addition to the proximity of the elevators. The breakfast area was clean and had a number of options.

Boxy Feet

The manager, Richard, who had been there for a couple of months, was very cordial and professional. He appeared to be the go-to person for many issues, including questions about food and equipment operation in the breakfast room. A number of wedding guests stayed here, and in my immediate family, we were very pleased with the courtesy and service.

Hotel staff was absolutely wonderful and kind. Everything looked very clean! Beds were comfortable and the standard King room I stayed in, had plenty of floor space for my toddler to play around, all while having her pack n play set up. There were a few breakfast options that was out of order. But overall they had plenty of other options to choose from. The breakfast area was clean and the staff very professional. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and plan on staying there again while visiting friends!
