It's a very nice stop. It's a must see. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Hiking trails and the observation tower is awesome. You can easily spend a couple of hours there.

I was in Ashland the 3rd week of April. It was very cold and there was ice still on the lake. Looking for things to do we stopped by the visitor center. They have a wealth of knowledge contained in this building. Pamphlets on attractions, trails, waterfalls. Ferry information to the apostle islands. Interactive displays. Lovely dioramas and murals. Gift shop. Clean restrooms. The only disappointment was the observation deck. Steps and elevator. Once up top I was hoping for a beautiful view of the lake. However, you are quite a distance from Lake Superior so it was an amazing view of the land around the center. There was also a man on the outside observation deck with binoculars counting birds. In the lobby was a large board showing the number of each species of migrating bird. I would definitely spend 30 minutes here.

Big parking lot. Any size RV can fit. We're full time RVr's, blog link in bio. Room to run your dog too. Beautiful visitor center with great helpful people who work and volunteer to make your visit the best it can be. The photos are of the surrounding areas.

Super staff and information! Got my Superior Circle Tour stamp and info on some area points of interest. Beautiful interior and clean restroom facilities. Arrived 45 minutes before closing and didn't feel pushed out the door. Really enjoys the observation tower.
