The flaggers are really unprofessional neither one stands there holding their paddles they have them stuck in cones half the time. One of them is sometime not even there. So in my professional opinion as a retired flagger this is not a very good flagging company. It does not even deserve a star.

Had us stopped for 15 minutes while they picked up cones as slow as possible.

Regardless of whether your in the private or public sector, if these folks bid for a job - it is in your best interests to stay as far away from them as possible. Please award the contract to someone who will do the job professionally and well, you’ll thank yourself later! Recently witnessed very unprofessional behavior from this flagging company on HWY 99 near Oregon City. Blocking the highway and stalling traffic unnecessarily while point and laughing at the cars backing up for miles - all while their female supervisor/foreman was suggestively riding the traffic cone and flicking cigarette butts into the brush on the side of the road. Incredibly unprofessional and created a huge public safety hazard! Please consider other bids and DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

Worst flaggers. First time though I ended up sitting in work zone while flaggers attempted to figure out was happening. On return trip, I ended up at front of line and watched opposite traffic to 3 rotations and flagger wouldn't let us go.

Questions & Answers

How do I get an apprentice license? I've been flagging in Idaho for 3+ years and haven't made over $12 .

There are two ways to get on with C.O.A.T. flagging. First thing is to call them and talk with someone from H.R., they will tell you that you need to join the Union which is local 737. When you get to the union you can either sign up as a laborer and let them know you want to join the apprenticeship program for flagging, pay around $30 to put your name on the flaggers list and call C.O.A.T. and let them know. They will request you by name instead of taking the first on the list. By doing this you will automatically be at journeyman wages. And you would not have to go through the apprenticeship.
