Poe's Legacy was a solid escape room. Had a good experience with a group of 4. And the food place right above is great too.

My group did Poe's legacy and had a great time. The puzzles are well written and engaging. We solved the room with 15 seconds to spare! While I would definitely go back for another puzzle, my concerns are more environmental rather than the games themselves. Maybe it's just the nature of being in a basement in Salem but there is a definite moldy smell down there. They would benefit from running a dehumidifier occasionally. It was extremely hot down there, such that I had sweat dripping down my face and back and felt a little dizzy and nauseous by the time it was done. Also they keep the rooms very dark for effect but there is a lot of reading to do for the game and the provided light sources are inadequate. I would recommend bringing a small flashlight (you aren't allowed to have your phone).

Editing because it is the right thing to do. Companies range from those that make mistakes and won't acknowledge them to those that work to make it right. Exitus went so far beyond any expectation that I'm honor bound to set the record straight. Their scheduling software didn't block out the holidays as it was supposed to, so there was no one there to greet us when we arrived. I'll save you the details but the response when I got in touch with an employee was unhelpful, and this was after my partner had called and left messages with no response. However... the following week, the owner contacted us, refunded the room, and invited us to come do the room anyway as a way of making it right. He also offered my lady and I a 'date night' voucher as well. He was very apologetic and seemed genuinely concerned about what happened, including how it was handled by his staff, and at the failure to catch the inappropriate scheduling the software let us make. We can't wait schedule our visit and try our luck with the room. We weren't looking for "freebies" but did want our proper refund. The owner was so gracious and really did more than was necessary, but we appreciate it, and will certainly tell our friends that they have an upstanding local business to support. Book your room! (Just not on a holiday).

This was such a fun way to spend a Saturday night with friends. Unfortunately the Operation Takeout room was quite literally not working properly, as one of the puzzles, which we spent nearly 20+ minutes on, would not work. When we were told it was over, we had a worker check the puzzle, and it had been correct and did not properly unveil what it was supposed to. The worker didn’t really say much other than they would have to talk to someone about it, and it was just really disappointing because we had gotten so far into the room and was told we had almost made it, but due to the room being faulty, we had failed. Again, super fun, especially for a first escape room experience, just slightly disappointed.

Questions & Answers

If it’s a group of 4 and the room has a capacity of 6 will we be paired up with strangers or not because of Covid

Each room booked, no matter the size of the group, will be a private experience. This was changed due to Covid restrictions and will likely stick even when restrictions are lifted. - Exitus

Would the escape rooms be scary for children? Also are there easy levels for beginners?

The rooms should not be scary for children. And all the rooms have over 60% chance of completing.

We have a party of 8-9 would it be ok to have that many? It’s a women’s group and I don’t want to leave anyone out!

You can you call them but I'm pretty sure our group had 10. I think you can go all the way up to 12.

You can absolutely participate in an escape room for two people! It is $29 per participant, however it is still fun to engage in with only two people.

Can kids go in if parents and grandparents are with them? If so, do they cost $25.00 also?

Jacqueline Pehl | Aug 18, 2019
Exitus:Salem Escape Rooms | Aug 18, 2019

Hey Jacqueline, absolutely! Our rooms were designed to be difficult, so we don’t recommend children under the age of 14 to attempt a room without adults present and engaged. Families with children of various ages have shown to be successful in the past as well! All participants in the room would be $25 each, correct. Thank you, Exitus Staff

What is the recommended size group? 3 people ok, or not large enough?

Jack O'Lantern | Aug 18, 2018
Dawn Maddocks | Aug 18, 2018

Three would be fine, communication is really the most important element...

How much does it cost

Mariana Sanchez | Aug 18, 2018
Dawn Maddocks | Aug 18, 2018

$25 per person
