Great food from the restaurant and prep kitchen! We are up every year and now make it part of our routine to purchase frozen items from the prep kitchen to enjoy at our summer house. Enjoy dining at the restaurant too- you can't beat the Thai chicken wrap!

After arriving in Maine the other day my family and I went for lunch accompanied by my friend. Him and I shared the mussel starter and the rest of my family ate various other dishes (not mussels). After about 3 hours my friend and I started to feel incredibly nauseous and were violently sick for the next 17 hours. Nothing after the mussels was eaten (no one else in the family showed any symptoms) and they almost sent the both of us to the hospital due to the violent nature of the reaction. Furthermore to our surprise when we called the restaurant to let them know, they seemed utterly uninterested and effectively brushed us off with a refusal to accept any form of responsibility. My family and I have never experienced such a blatant show of carelessness and rudeness.

We frequent the bar upstairs. Bobby & Eban are friendly and knowledgeable. Happy hour food menu is nice. I'm pretty sure Bobby has a story for every hockey puck on the wall behind the bar.

When you are in a fairly remote tourist area, you need to be spectacular to be a restaurant, the Damariscotta River Grill is just that - and more! Eight of us had delicious meals. The prices were the same as other area restaurants. The garlic mashed potatoes were out of this world. My wife wanted to go back on Sunday for the Tuna but, like many local eateries, they were closed to give their staff a well deserved day off. (Don't just take my word about the food and service, this place was packed with local residents.)
