Office staff is nice but his place charges for everything! Literally! To take a shower is $0.25 for 5 mins. What?? I've not seen that before. Laundry is $2.50 per load of wash (quarters only); $0.25/5 mins for the dryer. I didn't bring quarters and the laundry coin changer was out of order (along with 2 of the 4 dryers). Guess I won't be doing laundry here. Plus getting to the laundry would have been too steep a climb to walk; you'd have to drive there. No sewer available at sites, only a small pipe sticking up out of the ground for the grey tank. You have to have an adapter cap for this using a regular hose to connect. These are available at the camp store for under $7.00. If you want the black tank emptied, for $23 each time they have a "honey wagon" that comes around (twice/week). This campground is essentially carved into the side of a hill with sites on different elevations throughout. The roads are part gravel, part asphalt and ALL very steep, narrow, curvy, and bumpy. Once to our site (#167) which was at the back, away from all the noise, activities, & kids was fairly level, a bit tricky to back into and out of with a 32 ft. Trailer. Water & electric (50amp) worked well. Cable was only so-so for channels coming in. The good thing was their WiFi worked really well so we were grateful for that. There is a security gate (you get a card for access that you must return at check-out) but it's only one lane for entry/exit! So if two vehicles approach from opposite directions, someone gets to back up. Cost for 2 nights was $116.50, no discounts ($112.00 $4.50 transaction fee$116.50). There's mostly permanent residents here with families so lots of kids and activities. It was the only place I could find on short notice that had availability. For just traveling through, I would not stay here again. Too difficult to navigate the roads and the price was too high for what you get.

We struggled to get level in our A class and the office swapped us straight into another spot, no trouble at all. A great family campground.

Great Family RV Park. A wonderful getaway near a lot of stuff in central CT. Relatively quiet and peaceful. Water and electric hookups. Pool, multiple playgrounds, mini golf, basketball, tennis, and lots to do in the game room and community center.

Would not recommend this campground to anyone. Campground is filled with seasonal campers who think they are at home. Music was blaring from an RV that we could hear it loudly 5 sites away from us. Told an employee who did speak to the campers but the very next day they were back to the same thing and the campsite employees are rarely to never seen driving around the campsite. Tried to play shuffleboard with our grandsons and it is in such dire condition that the cement is cracked and chipped away that you couldn't really play. The miniature golf course is in really poor condition. Great location next to Gillette Castle. It's a shame they have left it go so much.
