I went back and forth over 4 or 5 stars. So I'm going with 4.5 stars. This is a very nice motel. No it is not perfect. But it is quite good. The location and views are excellent. Obviously some rooms views are better than others depending on the room. But the grounds themselves have nice views of the St. Lawrence and landmarks like Bolt Castle. Our room was quite nice and clean. I found any staff we dealt with to be nice and professional. We really had no real issues to speak of. So that made for a nice long weekend stay. Capt. Thomson's is right in the village and you can basically walk to most anything.Other than going out of the village, our vehicle stayed parked at the resort. It's nice not having to search for parking. All in all, a very nice little resort on the water. I would definitely stay again when in the area.

My boyfriend and I started traveling. He is 18 I am 17. Most hotels you have to be 21 to check in this one was 18. So that was a first great sign! We get here and this place is absolutely beautiful!!! We go to our room and the room is spotless, the view is incredible, and the front desk lady Amanda was awesome! We then went to dinner that night at “Riley’s by the water” The food was excellent and our server Ryan was fantastic! Definitely will be back!!

Just returned from a 4-day stay at Capt. Thomson’s. Room was cleaned pretty well, except cleaning staff forgot to clean the floor, which was quite dirty for our first day there. Girls in office/lobby were very pleasant. We were very appreciative when Gabriella (in lobby) went above and beyond what’s expected when helping us with a couple of issues (issues were not big/negative problems). A great place to stay!
