Let me start by saying I was just trying to take my fiancé out of town on a short three day two night get away for her birthday. We booked the executive package. Price point for this is about a grand, per day. I feel there was plenty left to be desired. The French Manor was certainly not all bad. The locale was beautiful. Entering the Nice suite we discovered an elegant room which was also clean. The view from Huckleberry hill is likely one of the finest the Pocono's has to offer. Breakfast on the terrace was nice and the food was good. The tone was set at check in when we arrived at 4pm. We were not really made to feel welcome, and told that the bar was closed. We were still able to get our check in cocktails, it just seemed like an inconvenience to order cocktails even at dinner. The Maitre d appeared stressed and was not very welcoming. He was not personable, lacked people skills and in general was just not a real happy fella. The rest of the customer service was fine for the most part, but nothing that really stood out. The amenities is where the Manor really fails to meet expectations. Hannah's cafe was not what one would expect from a cafe. I could be wrong here, but it appeared to be the check in room with a few souvenirs and tea bags. Also the bar has no seating and was quite weathered. Not what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The Decanter of Sherry was non existent. (when you go to book the room the decanter of sherry is still listed with the package we selected. This must have been changed to bottled water but not updated in that particular location of the website.) We had two Godiva chocolates and two water bottles in our room upon check in, not sure why the latter wasn't in the fridge? The couples massage was fine, and she got some other treatments as well. My issue with the spa is pretty on par with the rest of the joint. When you walk into the Spa its about ninety degrees. While I waited on her I hit the pool, hot tub, and sauna for a bit. I had to walk outside to cool off. Let me say again, Its summer time and I had to walk outside to cool off. However the staff at the spa were friendly and accommodating. Diner looked the part and was good, but not great. At two hundred bucks a night, you should be able to get top quality. I have had better for much less. The Manor must be notified when they are being shopped, because that Mess hall is just not four diamond. We tried to find some pamper in the Pocono's, swing and a miss.

One of the best vacations we've ever had. The room was top notch, the view was amazing, the spa was good (not great, but definitely above average), the food... wow, was the food great. The grounds are so peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. We wanted a relaxing, intimate get away and we got that and more. Really impressed and we are already planning a return trip for next year.
