I came in as a total neophyte but they taught me the parts of a skateboard, how to assemble it, and how to balance and ride one. Super cool, super friendly and overall really good. If your a beginner at skating like me with no experience ever stepping foot on a board and wanna just get the parts for one I highly recommend you go here. Really, really awesome place. Period.

Stumbled upon this skate shop today on my way to target in East Los. My son has been wanting to get his board for his bday. Let me just say from the moment we got there my kids loved it. My little girls loved the birdies and my son had a great time setting up his board with the shop owner. Thank you to the staff there for the nice welcoming. Definitely taking my kid back there.

I really like the atmosphere. The shop owner cares about the kids in the area and wants to pass on his knowledge of skateboarding and love for the sport to the next generation. The shop owner has a very big personality and seeing all the young people in the store made me really happy. The shop decks are decent and at a fair price. When I bought a board and trucks and everything, the owner threw in a free shirt which was rad.

Found this skate shop, The Garage Board Shop, today by chance. Great selection of boards and run by the most inspirational man! Does so much for the kids of this community. Was so happy with the service he gave us and helped our son pick an awesome board. And also gave some great advice to our daughter! The staff were all helpful and friendly. Thank you so much for the joy you gave us all today! If ever you are in LA you should all in to this shop and hear of the amazing things they do, not just to do with skateboarding.
