Notice so many people commenting on the expired foods and the fact that this store is expensive. Totally agree. The store itself looks old and outdated inside. Downloaded app to get custom cake. Go to store to further make sure they can do this. Was told they cannot because the computer is down or doesn't work idk. She didn't seem like she wanted to do it had the computer been working anyway. Shopped here maybe a year ago and felt the prices didn't really justify the condition of the store or the not very helpful or friendly staff. Seems to have a lot of longterm employees and I don't mean that in a good way. I mean it like they have grown used to what they can pull because that's just what happens. The location by the walmart just as bad. They have a man there that thought he was going to physically touch someone and remove them from the store after he mistakenly assumed they were stealing. He wasnt even LP just a cashier who felt confident enough to know that management would think thats cool. Been to location in trolley square as well who actually have decent meat and produce selection but they all have that kind of an IGA vibe about them. With the prices you would be inclined to believe you were in at the very least a Safeway.

I live in Newark and have access to 3 Acmes: the one on Limestone Road, the one by Walmart and this one in the Kohl’s shopping center. This is on the bottom end of the three. It used to be Shop Rite which had a worn down, dirty feel. While they spruced it up a bit, that feeling still haunts the place. Their produce isn’t great and there’s usually not much of it. I only go there if I’m buying something boxed or canned and happen to be near it. There’s a lot off that knock off, no brand stuff that you see at Shop Rite and Walmart. If you like Acme I’d avoid this one.

Their Drive-Up-and-Go customer service representative James is great, he is friendly and fast at getting your order out. The cashiers have always been very friendly: Shane, Brian & Lyric are wonderful. The flower shop representative was wonderful, for Valentine's day flowers I was able to find a decent selection on flowers. The produce department representatives are friendly & helpful... I haven't had a bad experience when I walk in there in awhile. Thank you.
