Richard has been taking care of both my personal and business insurances for over 35 years. Totally responsive to our needs and clearly on top of things whenever claims were made.

Farmers is the best Insurance Co I have ever had in my 35 yrs of owning a home..I had a water leak which caused a lot of damage..Farmers was there in one phone call..They started the process of repairing the floors, carpets, water soaked bed and vanity in the master bathroom. My Agent Richard James was right there to help me thru everything. The adjuster Nick wrote me a check to cover my bills and even offered to put us up in a hotel.till they could make it livable again. The main office out of Portland Ore.has stayed on top of everything to make sure I was getting everything done. They are replacing all the damaged carpet & flooring. Thank you Farmers for a job well done.......Jeff

The short answer to your question is yes. However, one of the biggest mistakes consumers can make is to assume all your valuables will be covered automatically. You may have to add some items separately to your policy.

Why do you order consumer reports for quotes?

Farmers Insurance - Richard James | Aug 17, 2020

Like the majority of insurance companies, we may review your credit-based insurance score to give you an accurate quote. These reports, along with other reports such as motor vehicle reports, driving history, and claim history could all be used as factors in determining your insurance rate. Whether you are getting a quote or purchasing a policy today, we will order some of these consumer reports. However, be assured that these will not affect your credit rating.

"Are there benefits to having comprehensive and collision coverage on my car?"

Farmers Insurance - Richard James | Aug 17, 2020
Farmers Insurance - Richard James | Aug 17, 2020

If you still owe money on your vehicle or are leasing it, your lender will require you to continue physical damage coverage – meaning comp and collision – until the loan is paid in full or until you complete your lease term. For everyone else, the general rule of thumb is: if your car is older than ten years, consider removing your collision coverage. But remember to decide for yourself by investigating the value of your car. Your car's current market value is close to the amount you might receive if your vehicle is totaled. If you can leave that amount of money on the table and walk away if someone steals your car or if it is a total loss, you can consider your options and decide if you want to have comprehensive and collision coverage or if you feel comfortable not having coverage. Many people continue to carry full coverage long after a car's 10th birthday. Keep in mind, if you do carry optional glass coverage, dropping comprehensive coverage can mean losing that as well.
