This is a church filled with God loving people, lead by a pastor who personally walks with God daily . If you want to experience change of direction in your life, or families lives, then attend Sonrise Church.

I was homeless last winter (November thru Feb), lost and hungry and very cold...Traveling from one open, (usually open only one day a week), shelter for food and a warm place to sleep..Finally, I was informed of Sunrise Church and their shelter that was open, 7 days week..I was welcomed and loved and cared for by all the wonderful people who ran it..No judgement, no "bible thumping", they lived only to serve the less fortunate...And it was there that I gave myself to Jesus and was changed to the man I am now..The Lord guided me to them, a place to recover and through their assistance, to find Him...If it not for Sonrise, I most likely would have died..God Bless..Reed

Sonrise is an unhealthy church trying to appear to be healthy. If you want a place to serve and meet some great people, Sonrise is great for that but if you also want to be fed through Bible-Centered teaching and to connect in relationships accordingly, Sonrise is not the place for you. It's as if they are afraid of actually teaching what God's Word says like they are afraid of speaking God's truth in love because God's Word might offend someone. If you want a church where you can grow that is balanced with good biblical teach, serving, worship, and fellowship, and more, look elsewhere. The biggest problem is the lead person and some of the staff he's hired or presently hires. While he receives awards in the community, as a pastor, the lead person has forgotten who and what should be the center of all things which is Christ and His Word. He used to be a trusted pastor but no longer and many have left because of him. He and his staff don't take care of their volunteers. The Volunteers often are chewed up and spit out because they get used up by them and they don't care for the flock like they should. The lead person also is very controlling about what is communicated to the congregation. There's no transparency with him and he hires and lets people go with no input from the flock. He's made many rash hiring decisions over the years with may of those hires being eventually let go. He makes many decisions without input and if someone asks about something, he is offended or is rude in his response as if you dare ask a good and honest question of him as a "leader". He seems to continue to build his own little kingdom and not God's Kingdom. So many good people are there and are blinded to how and who he really is and I pray their eyes are opened as well has the lead person’s eyes to how off the rails he is. He no longer shepherds the flock like he used to do so faithfully nor does he preach the gospel or the Word of God effectively or at all anymore. There are many good people there but not a healthy place to be long term.

Most serving opportunities are coordinated through small groups. People are first encouraged to become part of a small group to become acquainted with their fellow servants. They then take on projects, both large and small which benefit the community as a whole.
Sonrise has public services only at 9am and 11am in the main Auditorium. There is a Children's ministry area where your child can join with other children to learn Biblical truth. There is no need to pre-register. Just show up and your child will be registered.
