I have never had a bad experience with CBP, anywhere I have encountered them. They are professional, and informative and good at what they do. As (literally) the first interaction you have when entering the US, they represent America very well.

Consider installation of a dash camera or body cameras when entering USA at this entry point. There is one female agent who appeared to be attempting to make us angry, to try to make something up, to try to make trouble. Do we have enough for a criminal complaint? No. Border agents have great powers to be nasty, and it is not criminal. This agent had some issues, others were professional. Your experience may be totally benign. However, there is something toxic about this place, something tense and edgy that indicates the working environment in the station is messed up. Consider using another crossing if you have a choice.

In my error, taking a wrong turn. I wound up at the US border crossing. Unfortunately once you're at the gate you're pretty much committed to cross. And although I had no intentions on entering the United States, I still had to go through the screening process. So mine turned out to be quite lengthy and involved , but credit to the agent working at the crossing... he made the one and a half hour ordeal bearable he was also quite informative and answered any of my questions I had. So kudos to the professionalism that he displayed. Thanks

If you a snowbird. You will need your passport. And explain why you there so long. And you will have to do 14 day quarantine.
Call and ask. They're usually friendly on the phone.
No. Still illegal on the federal level. Even if declared. However there are many locations that carry the stuff for purchase upon entry.
Yes, as long as it is not lamb or goat. Anything else, yes. But declare it.
While advisable to use a passport crossing the border, you should have no trouble getting home with photo ID. Enjoy your stay
