You can tell a lot about a new town you're visiting by their city park. The Dalles should be very proud because their city park once visited, was a beautiful area, extremely manicured, impeccably clean, and had I would say some of the nicest and cleanest restrooms I have ever been in. We were sun-chasers on Father's Day as we drove madly towards Hood River to find sunshine and we didn't stop until we hit the Dalles And we use their City Park as our Google maps location point. It was such a nice park We let the dog walk around for a bit and set it to picnic tables and soaked in the sun. Wonderful location, very hospitable people in The Dalles.

Most of the reviews on here are talking about the local Farmer's Market. They have their stuff set up in this park from mid spring to early October. The farmer's market is great and the park is set up really well to handle the different vendors. When the market is not there the playground is pretty so-so. The play equipment is good for toddlers and young children. There are several stone and metal benches around the play equipment and well paved and maintained sidewalk paths around it. It's a nice accessible park. There's a big grassy area, decent bathrooms, and a very very cute rose garden. I like this park a lot, the kids and I used to spend a lot of time here. The city also does some cool events here for holidays and stuff like that.

Great beach area in Hood River. Bring your food and beer (it’s legal to have at this park). Watch kite surfers and sail boarders and dogs and if windy - bring a little wind break. Bathrooms there. And quick run for snacks or more beer down the street if you run out.

Sweet little park. Park across the street in the big lot. Rest rooms available in the summer. Bandstand for rallies and concerts. Clean and lush grass.

The City does not allow camping in City Park.
It's not the town of yesterday. It belongs to California.
